Ice skating in Bay Area is easy – plenty of rinks to choose from. Apparently I am not the first one to think of ice skating as a great activity for homeschoolers. At Dublin Iceland rink, where our family skates, there are plenty of pre-teenage and teenage kids skating right in the middle of the day – as it turns out, they are homeschoolers. Parents hire figure skating coaches to organize small classes for 3-4 kids – this makes it possible for kids to have excellent individual instruction – skating coach has time to assist each kid with individualized instructions. At the same time, time, kids get social interaction with other kids – something all home schooling parents are concerned about. And parents get to share the cost of hiring the ice skating coach – this makes it a lot easier on the wallet. Contents
